This rusty sign along route 66 in Santa Rosa is for what may have started out as Sahara restaurant or perhaps the Sahara Club but definitely needed its life as Sahara Package Liquor though even that is now abandoned.

This 1951 Nash Statesman Super police cruiser is parked off Route 66 at Gary’s Gay Parita Sinclair Station in Ash Grove, Missouri. I have it from another angle as well. Weather as it may be, it still seems ready to dart out and pull over anyone speeding down The Mother Road.

Gary’s Gay Parita in Ash Grove, Missouri, is an homage to the glory days of Route 66. Built by the late Gary Turner to replace a 1930’s gas station that had burned in 1955. I believe it is now kept up by his son.

This is the grill badge on a rusty dodge pickup which sat outside Gary’s Gar Parita service station in Ash Grove, Missouri on Route 66. Though cracked the colors are bright and true.
